Two beds, one forest,
and rugs that hold the warmth.
Picture windows open onto the deodars, close enough that the light comes through the branches green. The Royal Twin is for travelling together without anyone giving up the view — two beds made up in white linen, a low table between the chairs, and hand-woven Tibetan rugs laid warm across the pine.
The floors are heated and so is the bathroom, which at this altitude stops being a luxury by the second morning. Twelve years of building Timilo are in the fabric of the place — the reclaimed Indian Mahogany, salvaged after the 1950 Siang Valley earthquake, that now carries the main staircase; the Malaysian cane that became the restaurant's furniture; the touch of machines kept to a minimum throughout.
