Everything you need to know before you arrive.
The practical things — getting here, staying warm, booking, and what to pack. Anything not answered here, a real person is one call or email away.
You will find us in the picturesque village of Timilo, below the revered Tawang Monastery — Changprong, above Choepelling Public School, Tawang 790104. We are about 3 km from the main town, on a ridge with the valley falling away on three sides. A car is recommended, and we are glad to arrange transport for you.
Book in advance through the Reserve My Stay form, write to reservation@timiloboutique.com, or call +91 85329 58233. There is a one-night minimum, and breakfast is included with every room.
Yes. Breakfast is included with every room, served at O-Shum as the sun comes up over the valley. Our chefs are happy to prepare Jain, local and vegetarian dishes, and will gladly cook to order beyond the menu.
Experience the ultimate comfort and warmth of heated rooms, heated bathroom floors and warm beds, with a hot water bottle tucked in at turndown. Oxygen support is available on request, and at 10,000 ft we gently suggest taking your first day slowly.
With pleasure. Our travel desk arranges everything — transport, permits where they are needed, and experienced local guides who know these passes intimately. Bum La permits take a day to file, so do tell us early. See Timilo Day Activities for the full collection.
Stays and activities can be rescheduled or cancelled within the windows set out in our cancellation & refunds policy. If plans change close to the date, tell us and we will do our best to help.
Children are warmly welcome and join accompanied by an adult; most of our activities suit all ages. We're pet-friendly too — a handful of ground-floor rooms are set aside for well-behaved dogs and cats, with a nightly pet fee and refundable deposit, and they need booking in advance. See our full pet policy for the details, or ask the front desk before you travel.
Warm layers, and a few more than you might expect. We have kept televisions out of the rooms so that the quiet and the view remain the main event, so do bring something to read. The market is a short drive away, so carry any favourite snacks with you.
Yes. Timilo is open through the year. Some high-altitude excursions such as the Bumla Tour depend on weather and permits — winter snow occasionally closes the road, and we will tell you honestly when it does.
