In summer, the shoes grow lighter—soft cloth wrapped around the ankles, simple yet dependable, made for long days on rugged land. But when winter arrives, the mountains demand more. Thick wool, sturdy soles, layers of protection—each pair built to endure cold, distance, and time.

In the enchanting tapestry of tribal societies, there exists a unique and sacred tradition that transcends time – the presence of a "Phu." In the Monpa language, these sacred groves are revered as the dwelling places of local deities and are considered the holiest spots in their respective villages.
Nestled in the heart of one such village lies the cherished "Timi-Phu," a sanctuary of spiritual significance. This sacred grove, located just below our property, has inspired our name and purpose.
The moniker "Timilo" gracefully takes its form from the rich Monpa culture, where "Timi-Phu" means the grove, and "Lo" signifies the sloping terrain. In essence, "Timilo" translates to the slope above the Timi-Phu, embodying the very essence of our locale.
